Green Beans and Cheddar Casserole

A delicious holiday favorite kicked up a notch with cheesy cheddar cheese.


  • 3 Tbsp
  • 1/2 cup
    diced onions
  • 1/2 cup
    sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 3 cups
    chicken broth
  • 1 (10.75oz) can
    cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup
  • 11/2 cups
    French-fried onion rings, divided
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 cup
    shredded cheddar cheese


1. Preheat oven to 350° F.

2. Sauté onions and mushrooms in butter 3-5 minutes.

3. Bring chicken broth to a boil. Cook beans 10 minutes and drain.

4. Mix together beans, onion mixture, soup, ½ of onion rings, and seasoning.

5. Pour into a 1½ quart baking dish.

6. Cover and bake 20 minutes, top with cheddar and remaining onion rings.

7. Bake uncovered10 minutes, or until casserole is heated through and cheese is melted

Tip: For additional crunch, add slivered almonds.
