These heavenly au gratin potatoes are the creamiest and most delicious.

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp
    butter
  • 3 Tbsp
    all-purpose flour
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups
    2% milk
  • 1 cup
    shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup
    onions, diced

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 450°F.

2. Spread potatoes in a single layer on a foil-lined baking sheet sprayed with non-stick cooking oil.

3. Bake 15 minutes.

4. Remove potatoes and reduce oven temperature to 350°.

5. Melt butter in large saucepan, over low heat. Stir in flour, salt and pepper until smooth.

6. Gradually stir in milk and bring to a boil. Cook 2 minutes or until thickened.

7. Remove from heat, stir in cheese until melted.

8. Blend potatoes and onions with cheese sauce.

9. Transfer to a 2 quart baking dish lightly sprayed with cooking oil. Bake 30 minutes.

10. Bake uncovered 30 minutes or until heated through.

Tip: Experiment with a variety of cheese to change up the flavors
